Crooks fish was fashioned by John William Crooks (known as William) with the intention of offering consumer’s access to the freshest, highest quality seafood products via e-commerce, for nationwide home delivery.

William's father Dennis Crooks, the Whitby based fish and seafood wholesaler has sustained a high quality reputation for over 30 years. Branded ‘Whitby fish’ is famous throughout Britain for its superior taste and freshness, advertised on menus throughout the UK and acknowledged by top restaurateurs. The sole person responsible for the Whitby fish name was Dennis Crooks father of William, he pioneered sending Whitby fish to all major cities throughout England allowing the country to taste the superior quality of what Dennis had to offer, when fishing was without all of the current laws and legislation Dennis was selling up to 10 000 stone of fish per week all bought from Whitby market and caught by his own trawler ‘the Fairway.’

Bare in mind this was some 20 years ago, the nature of the wholesale trade has changed, adapting to more demanding needs of all the trade customers is paramount. Wider variaties of seafood, tracability and the good of our enviroment are all key focuses now, along with superior care of products and customers.

Based within the wholesale premises of Dennis Crooks where quality and freshness is first class, direct access to all seafood products is enabled. Fish is sourced from local markets, straight into the factory, then filleted/prepared accordingly, packed and iced into polystyrene boxes for delivery.
